The Street News Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide jobs and prevent homelessness.
Our idea has led to the housing of former street people and spawned a myriad of imitators worldwide. Street News is the world's oldest active motivational newspaper. We supply 30 papers as a start up. Afterwards, they can purchase papers for 35 cents each. Street News is the Soul, Spirit 'n Voice of the Street.

Street News vendors are homeless people except a few of them. We do not operate any handout programs using public or private funds. When you buy the Newspaper for $1.25, vendors earn 90 cents in commission, the remaining 35 cents helps pay some of Street News's overhead. We help the homeless (AKA) have-nots by producing a paper they can sell. We supply 30 papers free as a start-up for beginners. Later those beginners can purchase the papers for 35 cents each. This method has provided income for some unemployed and homeless people.
