SAVE PUBLIC
ACCESS !!
Current bills in Congress, if passed, will
allow cable companies and phone companies to avoid paying the
"franchise fee" which funds public access television
and allows people like you and me to create messages to be seen by
neighbors
and others. Proponents of the bills say that it gives Americans
choice.
Nothing can be further from the truth. The truth is without media
access provided by outlets such as public access tv and the internet,
all information will come to you as prepared, and allowed, by
corporate America's millionaires and billionaires.
Is that alright with you?
Without access to making media messages
that can be seen and heard our collective and individual voices will
be further marginalized, and democracy will be further dimmed and
doomed.
What can you do?
First, educate yourself about the issue and
it's possible ramifications.
Call your local public access center and
ask how you can get involved in saving your right to be heard.
Here is a list of access phone numbers
in New York City:
Manhattan: (212)
757-2670
Queens: (718) 886-8160
Brooklyn: (718) 855-7882
Bronx: (718) 960-1180
Staten Island: (718) 727-1414

That's Oil, Folks!
When George Bush is dead and
gone,
And Richard Cheney too,
Do you suppose they’ll decompose
To make some fossil fuel?
It’s hard to say, ‘cause it’s
today
And lots of time must pass.
But I bet you this –
You’ll still be pissed
And they
still will give me gas.
