The New York Council for Nonviolent Communication

NVC (Nonviolent Communication) is a language model and approach for working through conflict with compassion, speed and success.  NVC guides us to reframe how we express ourselves and how we hear others by focusing on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting.
It can be used by all people, regardless of age, economic status, nationality, language or race to dramatically increase their ability to be heard and to hear others. NVC is practical and proven in daily life around the world, reducing conflict while increasing understanding and connection.
The New York Council for NVC supports the mission of CNVC, The Center for Nonviolent Communication here in New York and throughout the world.  We offer training and support services to individuals, couples, families, corporations, educators, health care professionals, religious institutions, non-profits, police and conflict resolution professionals.  Check out the links below for more.

NVC Wisdom Quotes: People don't make us angry, how       we think makes us angry.                     All human actions are an attempt to meet needs.                     When I am angry I have a judgment and an unmet need.                     Focusing on the unmet need (not the judgment) is more likely to get the       need met.                     Empathy before education.                     When you need empathy you cannot give empathy.                     A difficult message is a chance to enrich someone's life. They have most       likely said it because they have an unmet need.                     If we don't value our needs, others may not either.
